Question by karnotda: Where can I find cheap all inclusive cruises or vacations for my family and I?
I am trying to plan a vacation for my family however I just can’t seem to find a destination that suites both my kids and my wife. Also I can’t find anything that is within my budget. I would love to go on a cruise or even take the kids to disney. What can I do? Are there cheap alternatives?

Question by gift_lady: What should I do in Freeport / Nassau Bahamas on vacation?
My dh and I are taking a cruise in October to the Bahamas. We’ll be in Freeport for about 8 hours then in Nassau for 24 hours. I am interested in the history and scenery, not necessarily the beaches or shopping. What should we not miss?

There’s a coal plant in Freeport. That’s about it. Also, there’s a restaurant that holds regular shark feedings.

Oh right, the bazaar’s mildy interesting, but very touristy.

The short answer is that you might spend $ 100 to $ 150 per night on a low-cost cruise line like Carnival if you go to the Caribbean during the summer. The long answer:

It depends mainly on four factors — where you go, when you go, how long you go and your type of cabin.

Mediterranean cruises are among the most expensive. Caribbean cruises are the most popular and among the least expensive, so I’ll assume you may be talking about there.

The least expensive time to go generally is November through February, while the most expensive is during the warm summer months when kids are out of school.

Not surprisingly, a three-day cruise will be less expensive than a seven-day. You can make an apples to apples comparison by looking at the average cost per night.

Finally, an interior cabin is usually the cheapest. During the main summer season, an interior cabin may run from $ 100 a night on up past $ 200 depending on the cruise line. (Carnival is among the cheapest, but if you want better food and service, plan on paying more for a higher-end cruise line.) I have seen offseason rates as low as $ 80 a night.
