Ready for a trip to the Northwest? Washington, British Columbia, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, and Montana?
Springtime is here and so is the Northwest’s celebratory spring wine season, as the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia kicks off its annual Spring Wine Festival this May. Vintners in B.C., Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana gear up with wine tastings, tours and festivals at more than 500 wineries across the region.
Celebrations continue in June with Portland, Oregon’s premier event, the Rose Festival. Festivities include several parades, an art festival, duathalon fitness festival and fireworks.
British Columbia kicks off its passion for festivals in April with various events around the province. The ever-famous Vancouver Sun Run, takes place in Vancouver followed by the Okanagan Spring Wine Festival, in the Okanagan Valley and the Wings over the Rockies bird festival in mountainous Invermere.
Seattle’s annual Seafair Festival is the city’s and Puget Sound’s top community celebration dating from 1950. Main events include the Torchlight Parade, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels air show, and the Seafair Unlimited Hydroplane Race.
Yellowstone Comes Alive this May with a two-day course featuring walks and surveys of Yellowstone’s pristine wilderness. Nonprofit course fees help support the upkeep of the park.
